HobbyKing Hall Cherokee V2 1700mm
Experience the ultimate freedom of flight with the Cherokee Glider. A versatile, high-performance power glider engineered for pilots who demand both adrenaline and elegance. Whether you are a soaring enthusiast or an acrobatic expert, the Cherokee delivers an unmatched flying experience straight out of the box.

The Hall Cherokee—a beloved 1956 Stan Hall design and one of the most popular home-built gliders in American aviation history, has been faithfully reproduced by HobbyKing as a stunning 1700mm wingspan scale model.
Now, the Cherokee returns to an all-new V2, engineered for pilots who demand more power, greater durability, and even sleeker aerodynamics.

Cherokee V2 blends clean soaring efficiency, powered versatility and practical airframe protection without losing the character of the original sailplane.
The Cherokee features a retractable propeller arm that only deploys when you need power. When retracted, it sits flush with the airframe, significantly reducing air resistance.
Not just a glider. The Cherokee is fun to fly. From gentle glides to power loops and inverted flight. With the thrust of the propeller at your command, your possibilities are endless.
We’ve minimized paint usage to shed every possible gram. Cherokee excels at energy retention, allowing you to hold speed through maneuvers and maintain a stable, efficient glide.
All components are secure by screw and no glue is required . Ensure a easy build and easy transportation for a 1700mm wing span plane.
The plane is protected by harden plastic nose cone, wing servo cover and skid plate. The preinstalled mono wheel landing gear will also greatly reduce friction when you land.
The Cherokee is very light and has a tow hook pre-installed. Pair it with a Tundra V3 on a 4S setup, and you can have the Cherokee airborne in no time.
The power arm responds automatically to motor operation, so there is no separate retract switch to manage and no additional deployment servo to install.
As the 2026 2300KV brushless motor turns the 6x4 propeller, the power unit automatically rotates upright above the fuselage and aligns the thrust forward for climbing, recovery or energetic sport flying.
When the motor stops, airflow tilts the power arm rearward so it lies along the top of the fuselage. The cleaner profile reduces exposed drag and returns the Cherokee to quiet, efficient gliding.
Cherokee V2 adds structural reinforcement and removable major surfaces where they make a practical difference to flying, transport and long-term ownership.

Carbon and aluminium tubes are pre-installed inside the wings to improve bending and torsional strength. A steel joiner connects the left and right wing panels, while internal reinforcement strengthens the fuselage wing-mounting area.

The enlarged, removable horizontal tail adds stability and packs down more conveniently. At the other end of each flight, molded protection at key contact points helps reduce everyday wear during landings.
V2 is more than a power-system change. It upgrades the wing structure, assembly method, tailplane and fuselage reinforcement to improve strength, stability, transport and everyday usability.

| Cherokee V1 | Cherokee V2 Upgrade | |
|---|---|---|
| Flight and Power | Powered by a back-mounted EDF system | A 2300KV motor and 6x4E propeller are installed as standard on a self-deploying pusher arm. |
| Power Arm Operation | No standard retractable power system | The arm rises with motor power and settles back along the fuselage under airflow after the motor is switched off. |
| Wing Structure | Thinner wing structure with a comparatively less robust wing-joining system | Internal carbon and aluminium reinforcement increases bending and torsional rigidity. |
| Wing Connection | Wing panels were glued to the fuselage and could not be removed | Removable wing panels use a steel joiner and are securely fixed to the fuselage. |
| Horizontal Stabilizer | Smaller horizontal stabilizer | The tailplane is enlarged and removable, supporting greater stability and easier transport. |
The key V2 difference: the pusher-power system requires no separate auxiliary retract mechanism. It deploys as the motor runs and folds back when power is switched off.
Cherokee V2 is best suited to pilots with previous fixed-wing RC experience who want scale character, powered soaring, aerobatic potential and aerotow capability in one distinctive airframe.
Climb under power, switch the motor off and let the propeller arm fold away for smooth, efficient gliding.
Use on-demand propeller power and the reinforced wing structure for loops, inverted flight and more energetic power-glider manoeuvres.
Enjoy the unmistakable Hall Cherokee outline, then use the pre-installed tow hook for aerotow flights with a suitable tow aircraft and experienced pilots.
Make checkout easier by adding the correct battery, radio equipment and charging gear at the same time as your Cherokee V2.

Purposeful upgrades improve soaring efficiency, transport convenience and everyday durability without compromising the Cherokee's classic character.
The retractable motor pod stays stowed during soaring, reducing exposed drag for cleaner, more efficient gliding.
On-demand power and a reinforced airframe open the door to loops, inverted flight and energetic sport manoeuvres.
Lightweight EPO construction helps maintain efficient gliding performance while remaining practical for field use.
Modular bolt-together construction simplifies assembly, storage and transport to and from the flying field.
Nose protection, servo covers, skid protection and the mono-wheel help reduce everyday landing wear.
Experienced pilots can also enjoy traditional scale-style aerotow launches.
Power when you want to climb. A cleaner profile when you want to soar.
Motor torque automatically raises the power pod into position for powered climbs without requiring a separate deployment servo.
Once the motor stops, airflow lets the power pod settle rearward along the fuselage for cleaner, lower-drag soaring.
V2 upgrades the original Cherokee with a more effective power system, stronger structure and more transport-friendly design.
