This brass cleaning station is perfect for keeping your tip in good condition. Switch your soldering iron on and when its up to temperature melt some solder onto the tip. Then wipe the tip onto the brass cleaner which is coated with a rosin flux, do this 2 or 3 times to achieve a nice clean soldering tip.

It is made from coils of brass which is softer than the tip plating yet is harder than the oxidisation build up.
