This third version of the Durafly DH 100 Vampire follows on from its predecessors to deliver a fantastic even better version of this popular EDF jet. This version of the Vampire DH100 is finished in a Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) color scheme, this scheme was selected for its history and its orientation when flying. The RCAF obtained their Vampires in late 1948, and being their Air Force's first-ever jet fighter, they were an instant hit with the RCAF aircrew and pilots. The XFLY A-10 Thunderbolt II is a small, scale twin-EDF model of the iconic US Air Force close attack fighter that is perfect for flying in smaller areas such as local parks, sports fields, etc. The full-size A-10 Thunderbolt affectionately known as the "Warthog", was mainly used for close air support for ground troops and armored vehicles. It was highly maneuverable due to its large ailerons, was very tough and durable, could take a lot of punishment, and it "pièces de résistance" was the Gatling gun mounted in the nose. At this point, we would like to give thanks to Tom Hunt, whose drawings the Avios Spitfire Mk.1a is based on, and it is one of the main reasons why this Avios Spitfire (just like its smaller brother from Durafly) flies so well.. The Mk.1a has that truly iconic shape and lines of the Supermarine Spitfire as it was seen through the eyes of its original designer, R.J. Mitchell. The upper surfaces have a brand new, authentic early WW2 camouflage color scheme, with a black and white scheme underneath. This scheme was used from 1938 and during the "Phony War" on RAF fighters to help the observation of friendly aircraft from the ground. The Avios Spitfire Mk.1a is a poignant and fitting tribute to the pilots who flew them during these early years of aerial combat.
